Chemical Safety in Guanacaste: A Corporate Commitment | E&R

Learn about the importance of chemical safety in Guanacaste and how technical consulting can help prevent accidents and strengthen regulatory compliance.

September invites us to celebrate Costa Rica’s independence and reflect on our responsibility in building a better country. Serving our country also means protecting people, caring for the environment, and promoting responsible business activities.

In Guanacaste, a province recognized for its cultural identity, natural wealth, and contribution to national development, many companies use or store fuels, cleaning products, paints, agrochemicals, gases, and other chemical substances. Improper handling of these substances can result in fires, spills, employee exposure, environmental contamination, and operational disruptions.

Effective chemical safety management requires up-to-date inventories, Safety Data Sheets(SDS), proper labeling, segregation of incompatible substances, containment systems, emergency procedures, and employee training. It is also important to assess the conditions of hazardous substance storage facilities and determine whether Executive Decree No. 44741-S-MAG applies to the company’s activities.

At E&R Regentes y Asociados, we provide chemical regulatory consulting and technical advisory services in Guanacaste. We support companies through storage facility assessments, chemical compatibility matrices, inventory reviews, GHS labeling, NFPA signage, inspection preparation, and compliance support related to Executive Decree 44741.

During this patriotic month, let us remember that preventing accidents and operating responsibly is also a way of contributing to Costa Rica.
